Amazon Payment Methods and Resolving Payment Issues

If you are looking into purchasing some items at Amazon, you have to be sure that you have any of the allowed means by which you could make the payment. Is a debit card accepted? Does Amazon accept Paypal payments or does it accept wire transfer from Australia? Does Amazon sell gift cards? We’ll answer this questions in this article.

At present, Amazon accepts the following payment methods:

Amazon currently do not accept Smart Cards, Paypal, and international wire transfer.

Payment Using Debit or Credit Card

Debit, credit, pre-paid and gift cards issued and/or provided by any of the companies enumerated above may be used when purchasing at Amazon. When using a EuroCard and MasterMoney Card, choose MasterCard. If your card is in a non-US dollar currency, like Australian Dollar, your credit company or bank may collect currency exchange fees as well as other transaction fees that it not within the control of Amazon.

When placing an order at Amazon, you need to select a payment method. You cannot divide the payment among several cards except when you are using Amazon.com Gift Cards.

During Check Out, you will see this screen. Here, you have to enter your payment method. So, if you are using a credit or debit card, select “Add a card”; then enter your card’s details

What should you do if the card was rejected or if you’re having problem making the payment?

If your payment has been declined, you bank or the your card’s issuer will not provide Amazon the reason for the same. This is to protect your privacy and security. So what you have to do is to verify if all the details you have entered are correct. Make sure your card’s number and expiration and you name is exactly the same as that which appears on your card. You may also contact your bank about payment authorizations and other security policies. This may cause you some valuable time but you get the reward of keeping your debit and credit card protected and safe from fraudulent use. If the details are correct and you are still having problem, try to select another payment method. The easiest way is to buy Amazon Gift Cards from nearby stores or if none, from third party online sellers.
